I wonder if this would be too high tech for my dad – because he definitely isn’t a gadget guy – but I know he would loved something like that – because he loved the woods and the birds and trees and I know he would love to show them off to some of his internet friends. But $2000 from Sony is a very steep price to pay for a hobby – but for the avid bird watchers or outdoor type of person – I think they may just like it. Records up to 3 hrs long – and it has got all sorts of high tech stuff in it.
I was thinking of hiring someone to style my pathway – but you all know that hiring someone to do it – can cost a lot. So when I saw this online – I know that I had to get this – so that we can do it ourselves. Just using pre-mixed concrete and using the mold that can be purchased for $29.95 – you can DIY! Remove an inch of the soil before filling in the pre-mix and after about 1 min – move the mold to the next spot and fill it in again. Pretty cool and need – gonna try it.
We have been contemplating about a building a new garage for our cars for the longest time. Having said that it’s because we have more than one car at home – and during the summer – we don’t use our truck a lot. Inspired by what we saw by Olympia metal buildings at a neighbor’s place – we thought we should be able to get one build before the summer begin – alas, we didn’t get it done yet. So when the other neighbor from the other street had his up and going – we had to talk to someone about it. I heard they have some sale on right now – so we just wrote in and ask for a quote. I want my garage to look just like the above picture – coz’ it goes with my entire outdoor theme.
The kid saw some of her friends taking horse back riding class a few weeks ago and wants to enroll in it as well – so we are now looking at buying horse equipment for her and of course making sure that she can take the class as well. We were in luck and could get her into a class this summer – we bought some riding boots for her already – but we are also looking into buying her the safety helmet and saddles. We were shown the horse she would be riding on – and she was definitely excited about it.
Horse riding classes are not cheap at all – but being in the West actually has its advantage – because it would have been a lot more expensive in Asia. Plus the kid’s cousin had taken horse back riding when they were young – and they loved it so much till now – and they are adults and goes for rodeo shows and all. I think it’s worth the money we are paying – because it builds confident in the kid – with animals.
So we’ve just heard that there will be a Hello Kitty themed park in China in 2014 and I think it’s a very smart idea – after all China’s population is one of the largest in the world – why would the people who owns the rights to Hello Kitty not want to make their money wherever they can right? The amusement park will be in the city of Anji in east China’s Zhejiang province – I’m wondering why they didn’t choose sites like Beijing or even Shanghai eh. The Hello Kitty themed park project will cost an approximate $215 millions – now if only they would come to CAnada.

Portable grill for this summer ? I just saw the Marc O Grill for about $124 at Firebox – you can move it anywhere you want and bring your BBQ to the beach without any hassle. Marco Pierre White – the famous tv chef – appears on the ads to sell the grill.
As you can see here – there are removable legs – and you don’t have to sit it on a table or bench and worry about overheating or ruining the table or bench. Comes in blue, green and red – the most important thing is that it is easy to transport and carry around. Good for us who wants to bring it to the store and then home during the weekend – or to my parents place in the woods.
In search for a cruiser bike like this – but doesn’t wanna pay $600 for it – because the electra cruiser – cost as much as $600 or more *sigh* but I’m too el cheapo to pay so much for a bike for the summer. I checked kijiji – and ebay but everyone cost as much – I might as well buy a new one. I’m in love with this bike – and although it may sound crazy to pay so much for a bike – my brother paid $1000 for a shimano bike when he was like 15 yrs old. But having said that – cars back home cost an arm and a leg – so of course he can justify paying that much for a Shimano bike – but over here in Canada – you can get a car for $600 – why would I want to pay $600 for a bike right?

The spouse is a planner and she loves her vacation like most women do and how can you blame them when they need to spend so much time cooking, cleaning and looking after the kids right. But even with a vacation, the spouse refuses to overspend especially if you are going with the entire family. A room night in a hotel is about $200 at the cheapest and you need at least 2 rooms or a suite if you are going with family and friends. So we don’t do that no more because you can get a vacation home for less than $1000 for the entire week with 5 – 6 rooms depending on where and what kind of vacation home you are renting. We are checking out the OuterBanks rentals in North Carolina for some sun and the sea. We are pretty vacation smart if you asked me.
