Hello Kitty Karaoke

By | October 23, 2010

So the kid came home and told us that she wanted the same Hello Kitty Karaoke machine that her classmate has – after returning for a play date. She does love singing and the wife of course – had to go online and look for the karaoke that she wanted – to see if it was affordable to buy.

Having a karaoke home isn’t a bad idea either – after all, we do have her friends coming over all the time and they sometimes get bored playing computer games or console games.  I think girls will always be girls and if singing they want – we will buy one for her.   You never know – she may be the next Canadian Idol! haha!

An All Women Gym

By | September 22, 2010

The spouse asked me to search for an all women gym around town – because she thinks she won’t be so shy amongst other women when it comes to exercising and trying to lose some fats.  Of course, I didn’t agree that she was fat – if i wanted to live to see tomorrow – haha!  But yes !  she was reading up on  weight loss diet pill and said that she needed to do some step aerobics to make losing weight more effective.

So do men have the same problem with gym? do they need to do it in a all men gym?  men are equally conscious even though we don’t say it in front of our girlfriends or wives.  But if we see a well-toned man or woman – we would still be pretty self-conscious – a lot more than the woman I’ll have to tell you that.  But if you are serious about losing the weight – then you just have to take that self – consciousness away – like the spouse – and go do your work out – but remember if you are down with a cold – stay home and don’t faint in the gym – else – you would be the talk of the gym for a long, long time.

Gym Or YMCA

By | September 21, 2010

So the buddy asked me gym or the YMCA – after he went to the pharmacy to get some fat burner – you see he wants to take up body-building and look like those muscle man.  I have no idea – what the fascination is – but I took a look at the program at the Y – because he wanted me to join him as a gym buddy.  The Y in this town is not cheap at all.  Annually – just for myself – I have to pay $521.28- now if i join a local gym – it’s like $20/month – sure I don’t get to use the pool – but that’s like half the savings.  And if the buddy is really interested in getting fit – I guess fat burners just isn’t enough.   So yes local gym it is for us – and I cannot understand why the local YMCA is so expensive !

Hunting Season In Nova Scotia

By | September 18, 2010

Hunting Season will be here soon ! we just bought the brother-in-law and father-in-law some binoculars and like they say – wear orange when going out!  So we bought them a orange toque as well.  From deer hunting to goose hunting and mostly they hunt for peasants and ducks.

I love duck hunting though – I had a very memorable hunting trip many years ago – with the in-laws and it was very challenging but very fun too.   The children had fun and they had an awesome time with their cousins and no hunting are not only for men – the women in the family comes along too.  The kids are taught how to use the binoculars and spot the goose or ducks.  And the weather didn’t even deter them at all.  I can’t wait for this year’s season to start – we are planning to go with the family again.

Photographer’s Guide In Japan

By | July 29, 2010

Yodobashi is synonymous to any techie’s paradize to electronic things – especially a photographer – what i don’t like about Yodobashi is everything is written in Japanese!!!  come on Japan!!! we are in the 21st century now!!  can’t we have everything in English too?  Yes – my biggest beef about shopping in Japan is they don’t usually have things translated into English.  Well, i lied – they do have some english – tell you which floor has what and that’s it.

But like i said the Yodobashi is definitely a photographer’s paradize – coz’ they have a floor just for tripods and another floor for dark room stuff and another floor for lens and so forth – you get the idea right?  But you can also get all your other electronic stuff there – such as monitors – computers – washing machines – vacuum cleaners – a floor for audio – a floor for stereo.

So how do you find it in Tokyo?  it’s near the Shinjuku station and you cannot missed it. Opens from 9.30am to 11pm – rumor has it that they sell between 500 – 600 cameras a day.  You can even bargain here – and a little understand of japanese would be awesome too.

Learn to Play

By | June 9, 2009

Kids love to make noise, they call it music, whether it’s banging on pots and pans, banging on the piano or banging your head into a wall. Get junior started out the right way with some piano lessons and before you know it that banging on the keyboard will start to resemble real music. Who knows, maybe he/she will make a career out of it and tour the world bringing joy to the ears of millions!

Building Stuff

By | February 11, 2009

I like to build stuff, I suck at it but I like it anyway. Most of what I do is just made of wood, it’s easy to work with and if you mess up a piece it’s not a big job to just redo that piece. I’ve got an assortment of screws, nails, tools, hinges, industrial knobs and so on that’s starting to take over an entire wall in the basement! Someday I’ll start a regular yard sale to get rid of all that stuff I’ve been making and use the money to buy more supplies. It’s not something you can make a living at though, not at my limited skill level, but it’s a good hobby that can pay for itself at least.
