We have places around town that sells swim wear, hockey wear and for various sports around town but not those you need for a kid when they take up horse riding lessons. There isn’t a horse equipment store nearby and one has to drive 4 hrs to get to the city or may 3.5hrs if you drive really fast. So when the kid took up horse riding last year - we were left with little choice but to search for the clothing, boots and everything we needed online.
We do have a horse riding ranch but they don’t really carry a lot of things there and had to be ordered online too - so I figured if I were to order them myself - wouldn’t it be cheaper? So yes, we did just that - search for the horse equipment, riding apparel and also horse tack and found some really good prices for Breeches, Jodhpurs and Jeans for the kids. Love the riding helmet we bought for both kids, they looked absolutely delightful.

We thought it would be a great start of the year to get a new mattress for the new year - maybe a memory foam mattress this time. Why? because they say - the form mattress molds to the shape of your body - thus giving you better support and circulation. It reduces the stress on y our body - giving you a better night’s rest. Now everyone can use a good night sleep right? I’ve been having problems with my mattress for the last few months - so any mattress at this point of time would be a good change.
It is that time of the year again - where your local hospital is raising funds to get new Howard Medical cpu cart, computers and other medical optional products they may need. And although I don’t mind donating - I wonder why the hospital still need to raise so much funds because they are already charging a lot for consultation, staying in the hospital etc. If they are really raising funds to buy better equipments for the patients than I have no qualms giving but if they are raising funds for partying - then I’m totally against it. So instead of giving money - I prefer to check with the hospital’s spokesperson and find out what they need and are going to buy with the money. I prefer to donate something useful like those medical carts, then I will gather some of my rich friends and get them to help me with the donations and buy the equipments for them/ for the patients to benefit the patients.

The weather is getting colder as the days goes by - fall is officially going to be here next week and soon winter will set in - and every year you tell yourself you are going to get a humidifier - to avoid dry skin and also keep your kids healthy. When it gets cold - it also gets very dry - and catching a cold is a lot easier and not good for the skin. Now Hello Kitty has a ultrasonic humidifier for about $80 is definitely worth investing in.

The spouse was looking for a way to lose her ugly fat thighs as usual - and considered using the Uzap belt thing - from Osim but of course, like anyone who is going to spend a few hundred bucks on something - she did her research and besides seeing slim girls wearing the slim belt and wondering how it would work - so she decided not to get it of course. So a friend told her about something that might help with this link - click here for weight loss pills - which makes more sense to me anyways.

Then she saw this new product from Osim Webshop - the Osim Ukimono- which said to tone your calf, thighs and arms. It’s also supposed to shape, tone and massage all the above. I’ve done some research for her and all it does is to tone your muscles but not really a great help with losing weight and a mini ukimono cost about $138 - so I encouraged her instead to look for something that can really help. I guess for any woman it’s a big thing to stay slim - but if you love food as much as my spouse - you would need a little bit of help and lots of determination.

Dry shampoo can definitely come in handy for someone like me who sometimes oversleep and have no time to jump into the shower before work. Greasy hair definitely don’t do good for my confidence - so I use dry shampoo at $8.99 to revitalize my listless looking hair. No water needed - no mess - definitely great when you need to go for a cocktail after work - and want to look nice and clean.

I thought I should share a little secret with you - about scrub tops and what my mother does with it. Most people think that scrub tops are for nurses and those that works in the hospitals, clinics, medical assistants or even dental clinics and their dental assistants - but let me tell you it is not true because you can buy scrub tops easily now and they are not expensive at all and most importantly they are so comfy that my mother - the gardener wears them during summer when she is doing full them gardening. So there you have it for those who love gardening - try wearing a scrub top this summer and you won’t be wearing anything else when you are outdoors or gardening. Of course, I’m not saying that nurses and hospital staff shouldn’t wear it no more - but they are so versatile and can be use by so many people. My mom swears by it for gardening during summer!

The kid saw some of her friends taking horse back riding class a few weeks ago and wants to enroll in it as well - so we are now looking at buying horse equipment for her and of course making sure that she can take the class as well. We were in luck and could get her into a class this summer - we bought some riding boots for her already - but we are also looking into buying her the safety helmet and saddles. We were shown the horse she would be riding on - and she was definitely excited about it.
Horse riding classes are not cheap at all - but being in the West actually has its advantage - because it would have been a lot more expensive in Asia. Plus the kid’s cousin had taken horse back riding when they were young - and they loved it so much till now - and they are adults and goes for rodeo shows and all. I think it’s worth the money we are paying - because it builds confident in the kid - with animals.
