Yodobashi is synonymous to any techie’s paradize to electronic things – especially a photographer – what i don’t like about Yodobashi is everything is written in Japanese!!! come on Japan!!! we are in the 21st century now!! can’t we have everything in English too? Yes – my biggest beef about shopping in Japan is they don’t usually have things translated into English. Well, i lied – they do have some english – tell you which floor has what and that’s it.
But like i said the Yodobashi is definitely a photographer’s paradize – coz’ they have a floor just for tripods and another floor for dark room stuff and another floor for lens and so forth – you get the idea right? But you can also get all your other electronic stuff there – such as monitors – computers – washing machines – vacuum cleaners – a floor for audio – a floor for stereo.
So how do you find it in Tokyo? it’s near the Shinjuku station and you cannot missed it. Opens from 9.30am to 11pm – rumor has it that they sell between 500 – 600 cameras a day. You can even bargain here – and a little understand of japanese would be awesome too.
A pretty funny name but well used and well meaning – because this is definitely the last privately owned in the city – meaning – not owned by the BIG BOYS!!! who wants to shop at Walmart or Gamestop or EB games !! i support the local store – damn with Walmart!! they killed the small stores – where they are more personalized and knows more about games than the customer service staff manning the counter. When you go to Walmart or Superstore – you know you won’t be getting any info from these guys – but don’t get me wrong – don’t blame the poor guys/gals – because how would they know about the games or any cables when they are no gamer themselves.
The Last Gamestore is owned by a young entrepreneur by the name of Adam Perry. Adam has been in this business for more than 10 yrs and is a very friendly fella who definitely knows his stuff. Not only is he into the newest games – he is also into the retro stuff.

You didn’t know did you ? don’t blame you – neither did I till today – but green study shows that when you shop online you can save the earth! Get outta here! the wife said to me – when i told her that. She suspects that I want to buy something online again. Well, truth be told – i shop a lot online and it’s like and everyday event for me. So when customers/friends come in all worried about using their credit cards to buy stuff online – i can now have a better reason to encourage them to shop online. And more reason to convince the spouse to let me shop more online too. hahhaha! So there – i’ve given you the perfect reason as well – no excuse not to save the earth now eh.
If you think that only big boys are into riding toys then you are so wrong ! when my 6.5 yrs old daughter saw this – she said – give me a piece of paper please so that i can write to Santa and book this for Christmas! But it is kinda cute and when i see those 3 wheelers for kids going for $400 on a yardsale – i think it is not such a bad idea getting her this for Christmas – because this is only at $287. And what’s more exciting for the kid was to learn she can use this to travel to her grammie’s house – 10 miles – with one charge. I hope it is true because the poor kid will be stranded if it stopped halfway – so i told the wife to make sure – she goes on many trail runs first – but not advisable to right at night but which responsible parent would let the kid out at night right? so yes – we are all set – this will be her one expensive present for Christmas.
I’ve never played Trouble – the board game till i went to the local library with the kids and they had one there. One wouldn’t know how much they can entertain your kids – till you see them playing it – it’s fun and the kids are hilarious when they are on it. The game is so simple – yet so entertaining – I think it was the best $12 we’ve spent. The concept is simple too – anyone – from any ages can learn how to play it. Be the first player to send your four game pieces all the way around the board, moving spaces determined by rolls of the dice. The “trouble” of the title comes when an opponent’s piece lands on a space occupied by your piece, thus sending yours back to the beginning. Parents will likely remember the game from their youth, or at least remember the game’s signature gimmick, the pop-o-matic dice roller. The Pop-o-matic is a dome-shaped clear plastic housing for the dice in the center of the board game that automatically tumbles the dice when pressed down and released. This feature, plus the board’s plastic slots that hold the game pieces in place, make Trouble a perfect travel game–car or boat motion won’t upset the game’s progress. It is indeed satisfying to press, slap, or pound the pop-o-matic. It’s strong enough to withstand the frustration of the losing player(s). The game’s simplicity makes it easy to jump into without elaborate explanations or practice games for new players, but it’s utter lack of strategy will likely limit interest to just a few rounds.
We bought a cruiser in the late spring for the wife because she needed the exercise to keep fit and a quick trim as well – as she was attending her high school reunion in the summer. But she wanted an excuse to ride her bike too – like go groceries or run errands as well as going to the library with the kids. She wasn’t going to wear a back pack for the kids – and wanted a basket for her cruiser – and lo and behold – i finally found one at Apartment Therapy that she like.
This is a wicker basket is not expensive either and a good size for a ladies’ bike. She likes the leather straps a lot as she can attach and detach them when she is not using the bike. It attaches onto the handle real easy as you can see in the picture. It is finely woven wicker and is strong and long lasting. Bought online from Bicycle Muse for $35 and now the missus has got no excuse to go on the bike.
No, we didn’t buy it ! but the buddy – so he said the TouchSmart 600 includes an HDMI input, so that you can plug in your gaming console of choice and make dual use of the high def display. So the spouse told the buddy of mine that if i buy it – she won’t even be able to afford those discount diet pill . But i got to check it out a little bit more and it looks like there are changes in this new model.
Looks like they have Windows 7 in it – then the previous one with Vista, which is a much preferred OS if you asked me. This one has a 23inch screen with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 making it great for a blue ray drive and a HDTV tuner. I also noticed that HP build this machine with a lot of notebook features to keep everything skinny? thin or light. I also notice that this machine was very quiet – unlike your usual desktop. In this model of my buddy’s – there is a Nvidia GeForce GT 230M in a PCI Express x 16MXM module and paired it with a dedicated 1 GB frame buffer. Anyhow – it was a really sweet machine and at $1200 – $1500 – i can start saving up for a Christmas present for myself.
Add some style to your laptop – that was what it said on the decal – but i broke down and bought one – moreso because to support a local business who is selling it. So instead of doing my review on acnefacewash.org I went to get it before it ran out. I chose this because the rest had a lot of religious stuff on it – don’t get me wrong – i have nothing against it – but i wanted to choose one that i don’t have to remove just in case i want to sell the laptop in the future. But even if i do sell it – it said it was removable and no sticky residue to be left behind. Cost? $12.99 + tax (of course) and since taxes has just been raised – so it ended up like almost $15. But it was for supporting a local business and i’m all for it.
Recently, we have been selling Magic cards again – and truth be told – i don’t really know what they are – but they sure are selling good. Lets hope the other hobby store – don’t get to made with us for selling the same stuff as they are and a lot cheaper too. I am also guessing the guy with the car insurance blog found out about us selling cards a lot cheaper thru’ our store’s blog. But the people who are playing Magic – are really the ones who are earnest about it and spending a lot of money.
People asked why we are selling them so much cheaper ? you see it’s a hobby for the spouse and not so much to making profit. It’s fun to see the people who plays be so enthusiastic about the card game and staying out of trouble. We all know that in this small town of ours – if i needed to buy magic cards for my kids to keep them away from the bad crowds and the drugs – i certainly would.

We finally got a hold of the supplier that has Magic Jack and now we can have one at home – instead of having to leave my cellphone at home with the kid and spouse when i am at work. Sometimes I forget and because the spouse has health issues – she starts to panic. It happened again yesterday nite and the Magic Jack came in – in a timely fashion today. We actually chance upon it while she was reading about natural acne treatment and a friend who went onto her laptop at Starbucks left the page up.
